Blogging is being "attacked" by the mainstream media. How will there be a synergy of the two kung may ganung mindset? (e.g. Korina Sanchez' "Beware of Blogs") - RImban says mainstream picks some stories and snippets from bloggers din naman. Manolo says he doesn't know if we ever want synergy. Blogging in west emerged as confrontation to mainstream media. Media in this country is part of political and other powers-that-be. He thinks it's healthy, a little skepticism.
Possibility of bloggers being shot/killed/etc? How is it possible for bloggers to maintain independence and counter the politicians who have the resource to buy lots of blogs? - The politicians who have tried to used blogging to release PR statements. Politicians are temperamently unsuitable for blogging. Malakas bullshit detector ng mga tao sa internet. No danger if you blog anonymously. We tend to be pikon kasi. Smaller population, bigger feeling of impurity, more access to goons. Tactical lang yan, and maybe not direct confrontation.

Bloggers are pamphleteers? Consolidation of readers? Blogging is the latest manifestation of something ancient. Writing essays and circulating them. Internet is a public park where people can say whatever they want to say. Since a lot of political bloggers have fixed number of readers, i-consolidate na lang yung readers. It's an organic issue. We're going away from pure words, we're introducing pictures and sounds. It's the more organic aspect.
As a media organization, how to maintain credibility if they tap bloggers to cover? Should the content be owned by the organization? - Depends on the arrangement. Organizations usually ask the same people, or recommend. Need to expand network.
